Steve Holt, D.D., MA, is a pastor, entrepreneur, former missionary, NCAA athlete, and coach. Steve is the founder and senior pastor of The Road Church.
Steve and Liz met in China (smuggling Bibles), had their first date in Hong Kong, fell in love in L.A. and were married in Tokyo (1985). From 1983-2001 they were missionaries in Japan with Cru. They have seven grown children and a lot of grandchildren. Steve is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Fuller Theological Seminary. Liz is a graduate of UCLA and currently attending Western Seminary.
Steve and Liz planted and pastored Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs from 1994 to 2014. Steve and Liz then planted The Road Church in 2014. At The Road Church Steve has established Worshipper Warrior, a men’s ministry that has a vision for building wholehearted men. He and his cadre hold conferences and retreats that have impacted thousands of men, and have a weekly men’s breakfast, Wholehearted Men, that gathers over 400 men from over 150 churches every Tuesday.
Steve is the author of Breakthrough Courage (2025), Worshipper Warrior: A 21-day Journey into the Dangerous Life of David (2016), Worshipper Warrior Field Manual (2023) and The God Wild Marriage (2012).
Steve is an avid reader, fly fisherman, and hunter, but his greatest passion is his beautiful wife Liz and the Holt family. In 2025, Steve set the Guiness World Record for push-ups in one minute.
